Project Day 2024 at the Nandavanam Center for Healing Education: A Celebration of Talent and Inclusion

It’s that time of the year when the students of the Nandavanam Center for Healing Education outshine themselves, and their ingenuity, creativity, skills and talents come alive.

Through a host of innovative stations set up and divided into categories like Sensory Play, Earthly Heaven, Peppy Crafts, Kiddos Cafe, and the Skill Training Unit, the students showcased and demonstrated all that they have learned and mastered this year.

Sensory Play : Volunteers and educators sourced a variety of sensory materials and designed interactive stations to engage students in stimulating sensory experiences. Visitors witnessed first-hand how students learned through sensory experiences, gaining insight into the importance of sensory stimulation in education and development.

Earthly Heaven : Supplies for creating seed balls were gathered, and informative displays were prepared to educate visitors on the importance of environmental conservation. Master Aswanth passionately explained the process of creating seed balls, highlighting the role of environmental conservation and its impact on our daily lives.

Peppy Crafts : A wide range of craft projects using diverse materials were prepared by our students, and their artwork, ranging from 3D crafts to intricate paper origami and clay sculptures, was proudly displayed for all to see. Vibrant colours filled the walls as the artwork showcased the students’ creativity.

Kiddos Cafe : Kitchen equipment and ingredients for making dosas were set up in the café area, and students received training in the preparation and serving of food. In the bustling kitchen, Master Santhosh tirelessly prepared dosas while Masters Sailesh and Tarukesh ensured every visitor was served with warmth and hospitality.

Skill Training Unit : Students’ vocational skills were showcased through photographs and displays, and interactive activities engaged the visitors. The students’ farming skills displayed in photographs were a testament to their mastery over physical activities, and they received great appreciation from visitors for their talent and dedication.

The event was a resounding success, with each station effectively showcasing the extraordinary abilities of the students and the collaborative spirit of the Nandavanam community.
